Three fabulous and interesting bathrooms

Posted on 2010/08/03 by Henen in Bathroom, eclectic, faded glamour

No 1. This is one of the bathrooms in the Rough Luxe Hotel in London, UK. The Rouch Luxe hotel is housed in a Grade II listed building transformed by designer Rabih Hage. The interior style concept is “half rough, half luxury”. The look is a mix of old and new and luxurious fittings and furniture are combined with cheap materials and existing distressed original walls. I think the result is definitely interesting. I really like the contrast between the rough walls and the sleek tiles in the stylish shower.

No 2. The bathroom design below by super-talented Abigail Ahern, is dominated by an oversized “neo-baroque” white chandelier which looks absolutely stunning against the darkish-neutral walls.  Again, I really like the contrast between the rough (the baskets, the urn) mixed with the sleek and luxurious. Simply elegant and fun! Just hope there’s a seperate shower in that bathroom also – would be tricky to have a shower in that bath tub.

No 3. The fortunate owner of the magnificent bathroom below is Jenna Lyons, successful stylist. The bathroom (and the house to which it belongs) was featured in Domino magazine (now discontinued) and Living Etc Sept 2009. I love the black walls, the reclaimed brass fittings in the shower and the herringbone parquet flooring. Just beautiful!

Wonderful!! I love them all! xo

I am in LOVE with that chandelier! It reminds me of a blueprint (or a very detailed chalk drawing on a blackboard!)

    great choice
I found another post about the wonderful Rough hotel in London:

Thanks Jen, that’s exactly it – it looks like a blueprint doesn’t it! :) Describing it as a “white chandelier” really doesn’t capture it! I love it also, it’s pretty, but fun also! Oooo… just had a thought – it would look even cooler against a dark blue background wouldn’t it… Can’t afford that particular chandelier at the moment (it's 2,500 GBP) but I shall definitely keep my eyes open for a lookalike..

Thanks so much for sharing Miu, it certainly looks like a very interesting hotel! Would love to visit it in reality some day. I never thought I’d say this, but I really like the look of the rough and damaged-looking plaster walls! :)

Thanks Lucy, glad you liked them also!

Not so keen on the bottom design but the other 2 are great!
