Just a few notes on the decor: The tables are decorated with mirror plateaus, above the table surface. It is lined with flowers in various shades of pink and creme. Candelabras, candlesticks, vases and silver bowls are placed on the tables, and flower arrangements are in the colours pink, green, purple and white. There are different varieties of flowers, not mixed, e.g. roses, lilacs, peonies, sweet peas, green lady’s mantle and lilies of the valley (fresh picked in Ockelbo). I can not imagine a finer table decor.

Louis XIV-style headboard, bright colours and modern accessories make a lovely eclectic mix [via HouseToHome] and the graffiti vibe in combination with the super-trendy plaid make this room at Ace Hotel insanely appealing Newyorkish.

Parallel is this kind of beautiness, a neo-trendy romantic country style. Bouquets and roses, distressed furniture, wood and pastels. [images: John Lewis ] For trendy rest and blissful dreams.

With carefully chosen furniture (purchased at auctions, 2nd hand shops and even found in garbage rooms) and bold colour choices set and costume designer Elsa Fischer has created a Stockholm home far from the usual (Stockholm-)whites. In fact, she notes it seems to be a ‘weird law’ in Sweden all homes must spring in white.

Elsa has mixed teak furniture from the 1950s with antique sofas. Inspiration is derived from art, music and people she meets. Here and there are fine ornate vases, old photographs, dolls, candlesticks – and a framed bat. Her still life is changing daily. One day, there is a collection of porcelain birds and the next day there is a group of toys in the same place. May it be suitcases or dried roses.

The kitchen is designed in collaboration with an interior designer. It’s inspired by the old B2-line by Bulthaup.

The white bedroom, below, has a dramatic clothes rail in the ceiling.

This home, article says, is an ever-changing environment. In the near future Elsa plans to paint two rooms in the apartment Gustavian green and match with antique rugs. We round off with her interior design advices:

Yesterday night, me and Mike planted some seeds. Some pre-cultivation is going on, in prep of the balcony season. Since we live in Swedish hardiness zone 2 (corresponding to approx. American zone 6) we need to be proactive. Seeds of Tobacco flower, Tomatoes, Basil, Wild Strawberries, Chili and Busy Lizzie are now set in fertile soil. We’ll see who makes it to June :) Beauty is under waaaaay. Let the sun shine in!
