Browse and enjoy!

Trendey is now wearing a new costume and well, hope you like it! Some fixes remains though and if you see something odd (other than the usual trendey-odd) please tell. Trendey still sorts stuff in what is supposed to be useful categories – so browse around!

Today – or rather two weeks ago,… I just updated this outdated old post about trendey’s now former navigation system – I’m loving (still loving!) this framed collection of orphaned gloves, and the mushroom & lamp-display.

oh, and two more pics from the same lovely, lovely house:

Handsome interiors

I’m not sure why it is I like the composition of this room so much… It might be the eclectic completion! Or the fact that those peculiar wall-busts (don’t know their proper name, if they have one.) are wearing hats/or a wig? Could also be the interesting ‘dancing’ sign, together with the style-mixed chandelier and table, the painting in the back of the room and the big green vase…

Mild Colour Scheme from Farrow & Ball

Spring news! Farrow & Ball paint is, we say deservedly so, world-renowned for their purity and depth of colours. This British Paint God today introduced nine new colours to their palette. The 2011 colours range from neutrals to moody greys and takes on a mild and serene scheme. When the muted shades come together they are like earthy subdued pastels.

Alongside the warm nude-honey Oxford Stone (no.264) – a nice addition to the range of “New Wall-Whites” -  I think Plummett (no.272) and Mizzle (no.266) are the most interesting news.

Dark grey Plummett is a lighter version of the “amazing grey Down Pipe“. I can imagine this lead-grey doing wonders in a glossy finish. And matte alike. Mizzle is a pale greeny-grey, or as described: a ‘soft blue grey’ that got its name from very British combination of mist and drizzle. This is one of those mysteriously balanced hues that change according to weather and scene. The 2011 news also include Manor House Gray, Dove Tale, Cabbage White, Calluna, Brassica and – this one deserves its own topic later – Charlotte’s Locks. In the neutral/moody palette there’s locks from a very special redhead! Pippi Was Here. She told F&B to introduce a fierce 50′s inspired orange.

Dashing through the snow…

…not on a one-horse open sleigh but on a plane. Our Heathrow flight today was cancelled but now me, Mike and the trendey-sisters’parents have rebooked to Stanstead and will hopefully jingle all the way to London. We’re going to see Henen and her husband’s New House! Well not only see but enjoy immensely for the holidays. I’ll report from there. [I might sneak take some photos when Henen's not looking, don't tell, and you'll see :o]. And I will make sure she gets her computer in order so she can jump start blogging again in 2011. Now from us all, to you all..

- A Very Merry Christmas!

An amazing grey wall colour

In the dark painted wall-section lies an intriguing question: Black, blue or grey? There are some obviously great colour choices. One of these is Farrow & Balls Off-Black – Henen will show you pics of her paint results soon – and from the same manufacturer: the Abigail Ahern signature colour Down Pipe. This colour must be noted when speaking about painting walls dark. It’s an amazing grey, they say. In the day it takes on a lilacish hue and in the evening inky blue. Lamps lamps lamps plus bright accents are the keys to get the vibrant Ahern-look. And, in sum, to contrast the walls’ stormy weather.

A gorgeous colour scheme

Dark moody grey with deepest black and warmest oak, plus hints of light green and autumn reds equals yummy…
