Pale & Pretty Pastels

One of my favourite themes this season is the pale/soiled/dirty pastels. I.e. the main home decor trend this spring & summer, according to Formex. Pale pink & copper are best friends. If anything, these colour schemes are pretty. I’ll let this round speak for itself…

IKEA 2012 Catalogue: Earthy Rugs & Clothes at Display

The IKEA catalogue for 2012 is out, and it’s always very interesting to see what new things they have come up with. Last year, I both did a gender analysis (approved) and had a closer look at styling and trends. This new 2012 catalogue was not overly exciting imho, but these three pages/images caught my eye. I like it when IKEA takes some steps outside the typical Scandinavian style. Or rather, offers what this cool and strict style needs: warmth and coziness!

Warm and earthy, ethnic rugs! No news really, but I like that they are in focus.

And when it comes to bedrooms, clothes are not hidden away these days, quite the opposite…

Clothes, especially dresses, are decor. And among product news, I really like the curvy ISALA series. Over and out!

Marvelous Green

I know these lovely bedroom pics – from the Spanish magazine Nuevo Estilo – have been around the blogosphere for a while, but they haven’t been here yet! So here it goes: An example of how marvelous the colour green can be and what it can do to a room.

I would use another rug (and another bedside lamp), but other than that, it’s such a nice composition.

Oui, the door and details and foremost – the dress as decoration – makes such a lovely vibe.

To emphasize the beauty of greenish hues: a seascape photo print by Irene Suchocki.

A world of beige

…is what I’m in, choosing hues and preparing new decor – and I like it more and more.

It’s the perfect backdrop for a French-Eclectic-Romantic-Boho-vibe…
