Just to let you know Trendey hasn’t disappeared from the face of internet!, here’s some summer goodies. Staring off mid-centuryish….   …who doesn’t love these chairs? Via weekdaycarnival. And secondly, my love for morroccan tile patterns will never grow old.. Thirdly, here’s a shot from Swedish journalist & TV-presenter Ann Söderlund’s summer house (via Elle […]

A Dose of Danish Interiors

Posted on 2011/12/05 by Mia in Animal heads, Numbers & Letters, scandinavian

| pic left via boligmagasinet, right: moa og kaffekoppen | Oh, and before we go on with the Christmas decor theme, I feel we need a dose of Danish interiors. Glad you enjoyed the Norwegian excursion! Above pic is like the transition from Norwegian to Danish style, to me. In my thinking, Danish style is […]

Swedish L.A

Posted on 2011/11/02 by Mia in scandinavian

Here’s two sweet pics from Swedish magazine Hus & Hem. As you can tell, the (Swedish) people living here are inspired by Scandinavian simplicity and functionalism, and they actually have Danish ancestry. Reading magazines, I always find it intersting with the tips & tricks provided by featured people. In this case, their advice is to […]

Ooo I Like It

Posted on 2011/03/17 by Mia in scandinavian

This home is featured in Danish Bolig Magasinet headed “Luxury home on a budget”; through a thorough search for 2nd hand stuff you can surround yourself with great things in spite of a relatively modest budget. Danes, Danes, Danes….they are so creative and fun! A style that is very much Scandinavian, but far far from […]

Grellow Chairs

Posted on 2011/03/16 by Mia in Chairs & Stools

…are absolutely gorgeous for spring! I just stumbled across the hatfield grellow rocker (from CB2, left) and if it weren’t for the shipping cost to Sweden duplicating the price for it, I’d order one straightaway. I love rockers. I’m also hooked on Danish Nordals metal chairs, especially the ones in yellow and green (right). They’d […]

Some Danish Style Inspiration…

Posted on 2011/02/11 by Mia in Lighting, scandinavian

Today it’s time to add some Scandinavian-Danish inspiration to the trendey-stew. I think it’s fair to say the Danish style, generally, is more creative and funky than its Swedish/Stockholmish counterpart. The Danes generously add colour splashes and charm to the white (or light) backdrop. I’m inspired by the homey atmosphere this brings and cherish the […]

A Danish Globetrotter Style

Posted on 2011/01/18 by Mia in ethnic, globetrotter style, other decor themes, scandinavian

This home, featured in Danish Boligmagasinet, is another variation of the popular ethno-eclectic, globetrotterish, style theme. In it’s base very Scandinavian, palish and raw, yet stylishly refreshed with the ethno-inspired textiles and details. Nice to see some pineapples again! I especially fancy the sofa corner. The bucket of flowers and the painting completes it.
