And below you can view our son Cliff (born in 1965 at A.D. Sutton & Sons factory) and also another birch barch lamp; this one is mismatched with a wooden ball lamp stand I painted the same colour as the wall.
The sunny & warm colour scheme makes me happy. What I cherish most is our kilims, they make the room so inviting and homey. I’m a sucker for rugs, the more of them, the better.

Imagine your favourite furniture & things in a room like this! Or imagine this in a Scandinavian white style place.. Not only will it look like an very impressive collection of vintage books, this wallpaper will transform the room into an interesting library-ish space full of impact. Though I think I would go with only a slice or a few. As you can see below this one is a illustrative depiction of books, rather than a photographic reproduction. Again I can’t stop thinking how cool it’ll look in a bathroom…

Oh my…I had to google them all! Well not globetrotting – one of the absolute trendiest interior design trends – but I learned flotsam and jetsam is refuse found in the ocean and bowerbord is like an Australian crow (I think). Each day you learn something new! And actually, from Sibella’s style one can learn more than some words. I spotted her new book is out, it’s called NOMAD and looks terribly exciting! Next week I’ll give myself time to read her guide to NYC, on the beach.

This picture from the front cover of World of Interiors June 2011 issue really appeals to me. It steams vacation and relaxation. In an exotic faraway place (like Morocco :)) The ethnic/grobetrotter trend that smashed in late spring seems to have gone on holiday but I am convinced it’ll be back full furce once it’s Autumn.

I tried to find a song for these lovely moody beigeish interiors – via from the right bank – and keep thinking it’s something by Anna Ternheim. What does your ears tell you?

Another project is finished! Some weeks ago I brought this traditional old ‘kitchen couch’ back with me after cleaning out Grandparents’ house. I figured a kitchen couch would do equally well in a bedroom. Unfortunately I have no before-pic, but it had its original pine look, was bit dirty, and was wearing some worn reddish fabric. I painted it with Farrow & Balls White Tie (Estate Eggshell finish) and dressed it in some bits of fabric I like (patterned upholstery fabric & three slices of corduroy). Here you can also see our final wall paint chioce! After trying out 11 different hues plus a few own blends we settled for Farrow & Balls Matchstick. The paint was very pleasant to work with, and above all, it is an amazing hue! The formerly Stockholm-white and dull room now shifts from a neutral beige to bright sunrise to inviting sand...Enough now, back to work. Have a nice week!
