It’s a superb way to make a room interesting, lively and homely. The more mixing, the better! Above is a wonderful example of that fact. Gorgeousness on a wall.

I also like the pic left, found via Abigail Ahern’s facebook page. In her signature eclectic style mixing (and mis-matching) is essential. And adorable! It’s quite a job to find the odd pieces, but the only way forward is to start collecting.

I am a firm believer that the common denominator in the mix – the unifying link – can and may be one single thing: art that in one way or the other speaks to you. And always remember, no rules apply.

A plentiful and varied chapter! I still favour the mix-and-missmatch idea when it comes to table and chairs, but there are numerous ways to do it. I have to choose on a very ‘right now’ basis because it’s ever-changing. So here it goes, 5 fav blogs – in the interior design area – in no particular order:

  • Solid frog. Why? It has great content! Lovely pics and above all: style is varied, creative and fun, it’s not only the “usual” stuff. (Blog language: English)
  • atelier abigail ahern. Why? Because she is the coolest interior designer on earth, of course! Very inspirational. (Blog language: English)
  • style made simple. Why? Again the content is varied with pics and styles from all around. (Blog language: Hungarian & English)
  • UnderbaraClara. Why? She’s adorable and most certainly also her house is. Retro and countryish vintage with a huge portion of creativity. (Blog language: Swedish)
  • purple area. Why? It’s good, it’s comptetent, it’s meat and potatoes: it covers the broad strokes. (Blog language: Swedish & English)
