I’m very easily inspired when it comes to bathrooms. I suspect it has to do with the Swedish tradition of not decorating bathrooms and instead keeping them sterile and top-to-toe (white-)tiled. Apart from some nice towels and a white or wood cabinet, they tend to look like a public toilet more or less! I appointed bathrooms the room of the year 2011, hoping for this country to leave – or at least move some steps forward from – the shiny oversanitized and bare (white) ideal.
I am by no means advocating poor, un-maintained and/or dirty bathrooms (!) No way. But just look what some conscious choices can do: copper pipes, a brass tap, discret moroccan tiles and some well chosen accessories when the rest is concrete (even that brush looks fab!))
Perfectly clean and (assumingly, at least totally necessarily) meeting high standards & requirements! And stylishly decorated. Even a mix of metals in the shower, wow for that! I am really fond of golden/copper/brass/bronze bathroom fixtures. They definitely do the trick. And hey, what about this one below. Beautiful room or what?
