Mid May: Etsy Favourites

Posted on 2011/05/12 by Mia in Art & Illustrations, Cushions, Lighting

Etsy is one amazing place. I keep finding so many nice things! My latest catch is a gorgeous vintage monkey I’m so much looking forward to meet. Here’s a collection of some other nice things, available right now.

| a hand woven ikat pillow @ lai grai, a vintage task lamp & a vintage robert mitchum framed portrait @ confetti garden and a gift set for the craft lover @ funretro |

| a vintage 70s swag ceiling light (in sweden we call them ‘tiffany-lamps’) @ funretro, a sea foam herman miller eames chair @ comod and finally, there’s something special with this montana brewery fine art print @ awakes |

Hej!

  • Mia

Me too, for sure! Thanks for stopping by! :)

I’ve been having a bit of an Etsy freak out lately. Haha. By that I mean I also want a lot of things. In particular I’ve been trying to find art and small decorative objects that are a light mint-green-blue color, because that’s the color I want to accent my bathroom with. Too many lovelies!

I’ve also been eying this wonderful antique print illustrating Iceland and the Faroes. I have a fascination with that part of the world! But I think I like the seller’s blown-up version of the graphics better; it seems as though at it’s actual size of 7.5 x 11 inches you would hardly notice all the lovely sketchy detail. Maybe I’m crazy, I don’t know.

Wow, that is a such a nice print..! Love the cliff-hanger motif and the detailing is extraordinary. Oh and now I see the last pic is a total of it…..Hm, I guess you’re right that a 7,5×11 inches size hardly makes the detailing full justice, but then again that probably all depends on the quality of the print.

Iceland is so exciting. When I look at things like this, I always come to think of the movie “When the raven flies” (Hrafninn flýur) from like 1986, that we used to watch in school. Such an intriguing scenery.

I love Etsy. Only thing difficult is to actually find things! Sometimes I stumble across the coolest things, sometimes I find nothing. I got some really nice things from there, and it’s particularly pleasing for a person in Sweden – not exactly center of the world – to wear a scarf someone has knitted in Ohio or having a clown brought all the way from Minnesota :)

I’m thinking of buying the Robert Mitchum portrait, if that’s all right with you!

  • Mia

That’s completely allright, although I will be green of envy :P Thanks a lot for stopping by!
