If I were to choose a brand new kitchen today, I’d probably go for something like this:

Stainless steel backdrop + colours. It’s absolutely trendy, but with its variation possibilities it has a potential of resistance to the changing times.

Another, possibly more daring, choice is to let  colour have the prominent place. Blueish, redish, yellowish…All excellent kitchen-colours.

So… those were my picks for inspiration. What’s YOUR dream kitchen like? Would you go for something 2010-hot like this or keep it more traditional?

I think I would dare color actually. It is worth it!

Preferably blue. I love the third picture. Steel blue and Steel goes so well together. And with added red as accent color – it’s my dream kitchen.

Interesting! I’m used to kitchen looking a bit more like this:

True Texas style! But I’m very fond of mixing stainless and colors.

Nice post :) I actually think our current kitchen is some kind of ‘dream kitchen’, but then it also looks a bit like the ones above with colours and stainless steel.

Agree with you Mikey, ours is actually a combination of white + stainless + colour. Wouldn’t want it in any other way.=)

I’m also for daring. Colour can be changed, re-painted, if necessary. Same with vibrant/colourful wallpapers. Let your spirits free!

Dolly – I like the Texas style too! It’s decent and solid. No fuzz! =)

The great thing about stainless steel is the interesting canvas it gives you to experiment with. I think you’re right in terms of dating this kitchen will only ever look as tired as its decoration.

Plus it could be fun to go from a minimal 2 or 3 colours scheme to the energy of multicolour!
