Gorgeous and trendy, black walls provide a dramatic backdrop for light coloured furniture, art work or accessories. I particularly like the sharp contrast between black, or really dark grey, and white and/or gold. It really makes the objects pop out!

The above photos come from Apartment TherapyLiving Etc and Marie Claire Maison, The last bedroom pic, which is a favourite of mine featured before in Go French in the bedroom, also comes from Living etc.

Gorgeous is the right word! I LOVE the first pic and I’m not just saying: I do!! :D My next place will be black/dark greyish. At least one room. For sure. Preferably the living room.

Me too, I’m really liking black walls at the moment… Think I’d like to paint the guest bedroom black in the new house – at least one or two walls, maybe not all the walls. Agree with you on the top pic, I like a lot of the things there. The stag head, the book shelves, the glass bell jars and particularly the hot pink plant – is that heather? not sure.. anyway I like heather-lookalike plant!

Oh, the guest room – that’s a great choice!! :D If the ceiling is white I think all black walls would be gorgeous…and some wood (light or dark) furniture, white and colourful details..Watch out though, I might move in permanently! ;)
