Springtime Goodies

spring decor

Just a few spring fresh goodies I’ve bookmarked these last weeks. Above left gorgeous still life on retro drawer via solid frog, and right a flower bonanza via living etc. This pic below – via johanna’s vintage blog – represents, in my mind, stylish Swedish countryside living. A lovely mix.

Choosing a colour scheme is, I think, one of the key pursuits in decorating. This time a year, it’s all about those crispy fresh and joyful hues, bringing new life after the warming winter colours. I really like the subtle mix above, as well as the brighter hues below.

This spring, I’m extra fond of patterns like the ones below. Not to mention the gorgeous colours! This post pretty much sums up my spring 2013 fav colour schemes. Happy March!

My warmest thanks to you all, including the 525! fans on Facebook – if it weren’t for you, Trendey would be of no use. 2013 will probably be a quiet year in terms of blogging, but please browse around on what we’ve got. Find the categories in the footer. And keep discussing – interiors is fun!

Now may your world be filled with warmth, joy and cheer,

Finest Xmas Style

Posted on 2012/11/09 by Mia in Christmas!, country, Dining/Living room, DIY Holiday Decor, eclectic, Wood+Metal

None of you thought the post on spring trends 2013 came too early so I’m sure you won’t mind some Xmas spirit already! Loving this pic above from toast. Simple but smashing Christmas decor.  The colours are marvellous, loving that blue! And would love to have that front door…

For some reason I’m attracted to this left pic above (unfortunately I’ve forgotten where I found it) Think it denotes to the magnificent idea of decorating an old barn. And it’s an expession of the wood, wood and wood trend!  The pic to the right (via lantliv) has been on almost every (Swedish) decor blog this week. It’s nice. Very lightly Christmassy, which is great considering it’s a day to remove it all too. Also, the prefect DIY tips, why not spray your jolliest Xmas message on a piece of furniture! (and paint it over by tjugondag Knut).

Lastly, again a reminder Christmas decor need not be a knockout. Just simple, cozy & warming. Have a lovely pre-Xmas time!

Spring 2013 Home Decor [and Fashion] Trends

Posted on 2012/11/01 by Mia in boho, Clothes & Shoes, eclectic, globetrotter style, nature & urban farming, SS 2013

Don’t you think it’s time for some Spring 2013 trend spotting? I do! And here’s a first little round, guided by some fabulous SS 2013 catwalk ladies. Firstly, a sophisticated and cool copper/nature style.

According to Formex – one of my usual places to turn to when sniffing for trends – the Spring 2013 interior design is strongly influenced by nature. Shades of white, brown natural tones, wooden surfaces, rattan and other simple, natural materials set the foundation for the fresh new trend theme named ”Fresh”. Above photo from the excellent December 2012 issue of vogue living.

There are colours too – thankfully! This coming season with a new take on the pastel palette. Some soft pastels combined with brighter hues. Like this lovely combo of pink/purple, orange and soft blue (pic via sköna hem). Western chic (pic via hus & hem) is another touch I like. Wood & rattan against a dramatic black backdrop.

This is a hot and interesting colour, I’d say it’s unpolished spicy fudge. Acne fashion leads the way (with pic via bodie and fou). A great linen colour. Colourwise, the pic below left (via vtwonen) also represent a fresh taake on the pastels. Light green, almost pistache, together with grey (almost lilac). Lastly in this round, never underestimate the playful nerd. A great kid’s room decor DIY trick (pic via boligmagasinet) – just paint the hotscoth course on the floor! Creativity rules, still.

Have a lovely November!

thank godness for some quirkiness!

Just a quick note from a terribly busy Mia. Above could be The nicest real estate pic ever seen. As a photo of an apartment for sale – not a page in an interior design mag – it’s kind of groundbreaking. Great composition and gorgeous style! Homely, creative and top-trendey. Fantastic Frank is the phenomena to praise. Realizing I’m being starved of interior pics that truly inspires me, I need to share this treasure too, found in Vogue Living. There are some common style features in these two pics, and they undoubtedly represent something I yern to see more of!
