Easter Sunday Greetings!

Posted on 2011/04/24 by Mia in Birds & insects, Dining/Living room, trendey homes

With some photos from our little casa. I demolished our poster wall, just a few months after the collection was finished (you know it’s not the goal that’s worthwhile- it’s the trip!), and two of the posters got a new place next to the TV – together with some good -  and good-looking -  decor books. I really find those shelves useful, IKEA’s ‘LACK’; because of their concealed fittings). Now that’s the most Scandi-white part of our home. Below, the Easter tulips are in full bloom. Chairs are on their way to form a nice odd chair mix – together with that lovely House Doctor chair. So far, I’ve decided on two vintage Eames (one elephant grey, one ochre coloured) and maybe one green iron chair…

Cool! I love the sneak peaks from your home! Adore it and always inspires me muchly. I really like the crow and the white bird. Do you have a bird house too? What is the text next to the cupboard?! Love it all ?

hi, just found you – nice blog, totally my taste!

  • Mia

    Thank you Lilly! :)

  • Mia

Thank you Charlotte – so glad you like it! :) Hah, no bird house here…yet! Have an idea though to make a ‘bird house lamp’. Next to the cupboard is the “Cockney Rhyming Slang Alphabet” – I love the weirdness of the phrases. Actually both Henen and I bought that print almost at the same time unaware of each other =) Many thanks for commenting & happy last day of Easter!

  • Mia

Oh so glad to hear that! :) You are so welcome here.

Oooo! This puts a big smile on my face! Those IKEA LACK shelves are great. I’ve never bought any myself but my best friend has a ton of them, haha. The birdie in your tulips is SO CUTE. I am dying to see your odd chair mix! :)

  • Mia

Hah, yes LACK are actually great. I have a long one too (like almost two metres), which the vase stands on and also the TV, – and under that, another as long one, and between the two a looong row of Donald Duck paperbacks :) I really like the bird too, there’s one on each side, my sister visited this wknd and brought them as a gift!

I am so curoius too, to see how the chairs work together! I have practiced what I preach and gone for chairs I really like. Only common denominator besides that is they are all kind of muted colours. Let’s hope it’ll work out =) Can’t wait!! Anyways, thanks – great hearing from you! /M.

You keep your TV on a LACK shelf?! Wow I didn’t realize they were that strong. Haha. That is adorable that you have a collection of Donald Duck paperbacks. Book collections are wonderful.

I’m sure your chairs will be fantastic! :)

  • Mia

Well yes and no, I actually have the TV wall mounted just above the shelf. But the shelves are so tightly secured they might hold a TV! I learned a lesson when one of the shelves fell down, then we got some big plugs and even bigger expansion screws and now it can hold like anything =)
That is actually the only drawback with LACK and their fittings, for many type of walls they need some extra special mounting not to be too weak.( Oh and I dare not think of the holes it’ll leave if it one fine day will be removed..! Wont rearrange that one for sure =))

I love collections. Donald Duck just happened when I started reading them again and enjoyed it so much – (great bedtime reading material to dispel to-do-list-thoughts!) and well…ended up with a decorative line of book spines :) And the same with “decor themes”, I just realized today there´s a lot of birds going on in our (open plan) kitchen and dining area …The kitchen wallpaper have birds, a crow sits on the cupboard, doves in the vase…Now that I discovered it I need to resist overworking it!, my head started spinning like ‘it would be nice to have a bird or two sitting on the curtain rod’ and..’I need a boho bird house’ :D Ah well, decor is fun :)
