A Round Of Nice Ideas

Hello! Hope you are well this fine Friday! I can’t believe it’s still January. My mind is totally set for spring, I’ve even ordered some spring clothes I know I won’t be able to wear for at least 2 months! Bah. Buy hey, one can always decorate a wall with clothes, especially skirts and dresses! Now here’s a round of nice stuff I’ve spotted lately. I’ve put some gorgeous flowers into the mix, just to get you (and me!) extra happy.

Firstly, I think this wall decor idea, found at ljuvligt hemma, is amazingly smart and easy. For a hallway or any undecorated passage or corner. Just get a canvas,  paint it white (or any other colour), stretch some lovely satin ribbons across it, attach them with a stapler and…tada! Collect your favourite memories!

Soon it’s spring, I hope! Pic styled by marcus hay via bright bazaar. This is the greatest most wonderful decor essential right know I think – flowers en masse!

And below, from ad france feb-march issue, a frame grouping with two great features in one: round shaped mirrors!

Moving on, I love displays and still life styled like this one below, spotted at krickelin‘s. Relaxed, effortless, non-squary styling. Gold, bronze & copper items are always escpecially nice (for some reason, I’m not into silver at all) and so are antlers.

Finally, a huge bunch of flowers (perfect to combine with the cool style above)..

to wish you a Happy weekend!

Heart Home

Just a quick note about the brand new British online interiors magazine Heart Home. Great stuff! This is my favourite pic from the 1st issue. Love the style, the philosophy and the fact that the table is set for fika.

Things I Fancy Right Now

I adore this DIY:ed art in Jimmie Carlsson’s hallway! He has covered an old door in a bed sheet, painted it white and written all over it lyrics from the lovely Swedish song Öppna landskap. Cool. Pic via the blog komma hem.

I think this wallpaper is absolutely gorgeous. Almost like those granny-ish old wallpapers I went on about some months ago. If only I could find a place (or thing) to put in on, I’d get a roll rightaway, via anthropologie.

Dunno why I’ve started to fancy black cats all of a sudden! Might have something to do with Henen’s cat Blackie…A lovely print – I especially like the combination of colours and the eyes – from olive dear on Etsy.

Golden cutlery! How nice isn’t that! These are the best looking ones I’ve seen around, from Italian Seletti. And I really really like this spinwash tableware from Zara Home. I bought some wonderful soup/pasta plates in both this light greenish colour and in grey last week. In London that is, now Zara Home could you p-p-please open a store in Stockholm! Happy weekend everyone! Now I’ll prepare for Trendey’s Birthday party tomorrow :) See you.

Charming & Trendy Details

Hello! Now I’m back and refreshed from a week in sunny Majorca. I love that island, it’s so beautiful and nice. Here’s a round of charming and trendy details. First, a lovely countryish room with granny-vibed wallpapers, a rag rug, vintage furniture and well, loads of charm! Next, an idea for frames – why not fill the empty beautiful golden frame with some nice piece of fabric? In this case it’s just hanging, but it could also be pulled aside and fixed with a little tassle.

Pant hangers as art displayers – again! A very nice, trendy and low-budget alternative. Can be varied endlessly. And below that, a kind of new trend in wall decor: arrows! These are home made, from the webshop quivver.

Some displays & frame groupings

This is a home decor chapter I find really interesting: frame groupings and displays. A person’s home actually tells a story about that person. If not about nerdy interests and exotic adventures (or the love for white and cleanliness ;)), it does say a lot about what is dear to that human. In my opinion nothing is more thrilling and enjoyable than rooms and homes that speaks! Speaks stories, speaks loud, and speaks well, different style languages. A home full of character or at least: some. And displays of various kinds serve that purpose very well.

Ten globes are really cooler than one, don’t you think?

Here’s one of the best DIY-ideas I’ve spotted in ages: using pant hangers!

That’s such a great way to display a doll collection.
And lastly, book shelves, literally speaking. Love it!

framed inspiration

I’m in the midst of re-decorating our bedroom and the inspiration folder gets bigger and bigger…! Just as it should be. I like the idea of making new use of beautiful old frames. They are good just naked & empty but every now and then you see inspiring uses around, e.g as a frame for jewelry or as a framed chalkboard. The trick can be varied endlessly, creativity is the only limit. Today I’m inspired by this version below; an old frame, some fine-mesh chicken wire, a bunch of mini-clothespins and the sweetest memories attached.
