Custom wallpapers

11 Apr

Personalized interior design is a hot topic and creating your own custom wallpapers is getting real easy and rather cheap as well. Mia wrote about Mr Perswall a few days ago and another local company here in Sweden for this is Photowall. Just to get you inspired here’s a few examples from their site. A custom wallpaper measuring the size of 300 centimeters by 240 centimers is roughly $300, about the same price as traditional wallpapers.

Sydney International Food Festival

11 Sep

platesoftheworld

I just wanted to share a couple of photos from this excellent marketing campaign for the upcoming Sydney International Food Festival. They have arranged plates with local delicacies to make it look like the flag where the food originates from. Above you can see the national flag of Japan made out of Sushi, and Switzerlands flag made out of swiss ham and cheese. Creative? Yes. Trendey? Absolutely.

IKEA anno 1965

IKEA anno 1965

The first IKEA catalogue was printed back in 1951 and at that time it was only available in good ol’Sweden. Just recently the IKEA catalogue for 2010, the 59th edition, was printed and distributed all around the world. Today it’s printed in close to 200 million copies and shipped to 38 countries. Being a Swede I’m of course very proud of IKEA’s success and it’s quite interesting to look in the older editions. Here’s a couple of snapshots from the 15th edition and some of the furnitures are really trendey! Check it out over at ikke tikke theo.

Magnetic Bookends

magnetic_bookshelf

Here is a clever design for your book shelf that will make it look like your books are magically hold together between two red arrows. As you can see on the outline to the right, the arrow is a magnet that is drawn to a metal holder hidden inside the last book cover. You can get a pair for £18.
