I think in might have an explanation to the lack of bathroom decor. If you rent your flat, or own a flat, you do not want to ruin the tiles - cause cracks and holes by putting up pictures, etc. You can not paint the tiles (!) or put up a wallpaper on top of it. Possibilities are limited. For that matter, you are prohibited from having a bathtub in the bed room or living room.

Funny bathrooms are, at large, reserved for those who live in a house that they own.</description>
