3 tips for kids’ rooms

Posted on 2012/08/31 by Mia in Childrens rooms, eclectic, Wallpapers

Speaking of a 3rd birthday – it’s time for some kids’ room decor! I think this pinkish room – found via sf girl by bay – is sooo sweet. An eclectic paradise for sure. For parents and kids – girls & boys – alike. Maybe I’d just remove the white thingy on the bench and attach the mirror properly to the wall. Next one, via sköna hem, is a small but charming nest I think. A kid’s own space in a city flat. Thridly, there’s a wallpaper pic, showing verdure by zoffany / photo by adrian briscoe. I included it to highlight the many gorgeous wallpaper options available these days. Especially for kids, with playful & imagination-promoting patterns like this one. This particular design – a lush pastoral landscape with a church and waterfalls -  is based on a late 17th century painted cloth that used to be nailed onto a wall.

Oh, I forgot to write those details! It’s a wallpaper by Zoffany – http://www.zoffany.com/pages/products/products_wallpapers-detail/arden-wallpapers-with-melissa-white/1/ Many thanks for your note!

loving all of it! The wallpaper seems much greener on Zoffany’s site than in this fab photo? Would love to have it in this turquoise scheme…

Lilly, you are absolutely right! Difficult to tell which version is correct, one would need to order a sample. Here, it looks VERY green -> http://www.wallpaperdirect.co.uk/products/zoffany/verdure/90182 and, here, it looks softer more turquoiseish -> http://www.heals.co.uk/wallpaper/zoffany-verdure-wallpaper-by-melissa-white/invt/verdure_wallpaper?htxt=A1zqi%2F18WbX2WQUi9HouEZgKYyOLzRb7gMlLgEZwjfzwKsD8C%2FIFUz5xy5M0m2G5c33PDP%2BTUmrX5KotyhrGnQ%3D%3D I definitey prefer it the second way (it’s a lovely dining room pic is this last link!).

Here’s the designer helself (Melissa White) standing in front of it -> http://www.houseandgarden.co.uk/design-interiors/2012/february/zoffany-arden-collection Interesting story too.

…and here’s the designer again-> http://organzola.co.uk/fairlyte/images/homepage_slider/3_verdure_and_mel.jpg in front of a very much greener scene. Hum! I guess my little research study on this topic show there’s either two green colourways, or some pics don’t show the colours correctly. I actually think I will order a sample! So I’ll get back with the truth :) xo

..and hey, an analysis of the two pics with the designer in front would suggest there’s only one green colourway. Just look at her clothes, they are very different colour, and I don’t think she has that exact outfit in two colourways! :)

I love those first two photos… definitely not a typical child’s room. My room doesn’t even look that beautiful.

That’s a great point – I think kids’ rooms too often are left behind, just set to be a room with lots of toys. With some paint or a fab wallpaper – and of course great storage – it can be a lovely looking space in a home. The space noone will have the opinion the interiors are too playful! :) Many thanks for your note. x

    So cute!
